Brief from client
Design school assignment
I have a letter S a slightly distorted to make a snail out of it. This was commissioned by my school.
Think everyone needs to put their daggers away here, this person says they are still at school and you're being needlessly harsh to someone who is still learning.
Someone mentioned a lack of brief...well you would assume it was to take a letter and create a visual based on that letter. S = SNAIL. Not a hard one to work out for a bunch of 'creatives'.
I actually like the eyes but you have altered the "S" a little too much and the shell of the snail is a little poor I'm afraid, easiest thing I can suggest is to add a brownish background colour to the swirl with the aim to make it more like a snail. Alternatively lose the shell entirely and make it a SLUG :P
Try looking at some tutorials to build up your knowledge of the packages you aim to work on and then try to implement them into relevant projects.
Concept isn't bad. Remember not to use real thin lines as they tend to break up and disappear when reduced which compromises quality reproduction in certain applications. Try drawing a looser thicker swirl - maybe 3 to 4 radials only. Thickness of shapes and line strokes should be similar to keep continuity strong. The eyes would be better as individual black dots at the end if the tentacles. Good start.

you have no rhyme or something ... is not passing any message. work better with colors and shapes, based on something real ...
I dislike the 'unattachenes' of the 'house' of the snail and the snail itself, probably because of the lack of depth.
yes, there is no effect on the logo. I agree!
Yikes! Maybe use the letters WTF and the tag line....is this?
Sorry........ : P
Good concept, Work on execution. The swirl thing needs to roll on to the logo graveyard. Snail eyes need some shape/character.
Not a pretty illustration. Try again.
Maybe the idea is good, but we can´t have a clue of the "why", because you haven´t provided the brief. Anyway, try again.
My head hurts.
an edit of Pristina font's letter "S" doesn't seem to do the job here and the overall design doesn't fit at all.

Good luck.
