Sophisticated

Brief from client
I just wanted to make up a logo for a fictional clothing store.
I pretty much just wanted to create a logo that was modern and simple but distinguishable and makes it stand out just enough. This is for a fictional clothing store that is upscale but also affordable to all. I always think of a classy cat when I think of the word classy so yeah! Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

Watch your kerning. The A is further apart from the others, as well as the first T. Your O should probably not be pressed against the cat.
I also think the cat sends a mixed message. The logo implies "pet store", "cat food" or "humane shelter."
The cat symbol is okay, but I think it's on the wrong logo.
I actually think that a cat can work for very well for sophistication. They can easily be a bit of high class and pompous. Especially cartoon cats. Cat is even in the word sophisti'cat'ed.
It would need to be a very elegant cat though for that to work. I don't think it can have sharp edges like that. The font doesn't remind me of high class either, so it would need word (and kerning). I don't know if the cat should stay as the 'S' either. maybe with the right typography.
A solid first step towards a good idea.
