Sophisticated

Brief from client
Idea for a logo that I am creating for a fictional men and women clothing brand. I'm trying to keep it as neutral as possible so it's not too manly or too womanly.
Alright! So here I am again...I've made changes to pretty much everything. Changed the typography to what it is now but I kept the cat in the "S' because I feel like it can work. I also removed the "clothing" underneath "Sophisticated" because of it being what it represents but also affordable. The more upscale brands don't have subtext (from what I looked at) and also keep things overall pretty simple. I even added color this time! Feels like a color that can fit both genders and be able to work. Please let me know what you guys think!

Whoops! So...I meant to upload this under the new version option with the other past versions but forgot and now I can't delete this one...
The comments that I made to your original version(s) still stand with this version I'm afraid.
This isn't working and you need to go back the sketchpad and build it up from scratch in my opinion...
So, I wish I knew what the cat has to do with clothing that is sophisticated, but I like how you incorporated the cat into the "S". It's interesting but just needs tweaking to make it read slightly better. Angling both ears with the upward curve of the "S", similar to the angle of the furthest away ear, possibly. Giving more size to the head could also help from a distance, but the goal would be to thicken up and simplify the features of the cat.
I don't particularly like the diagonal stripes of blue, maybe keep the horizon going across your lettering, just higher on the "S"?
The colors are good, and the lettering was a great choice. I also have to say that the strokes on the letters really work in this scenario.
Keep up the work on it, and it's super close!
I wanted the cat to represent people early on, it wasn't just a play on the word "Sophisticated" but the cat is definitely in there as well. To me the cat is just a part of what identifies the brand and just made sense.
I actually quite liked your previous version. This doesn't even look like a cat anymore. I doubt I'd even know what it was supposed to be, had I not remembered what you've done previously.
The color scheme is okay, but it's placed quite randomly. And I'm not sure what those diagonal bars represent or add to the piece. This still needs refinement if your previous version wasn't satisfactory.
Those diagonal bars...I should have known better. Anywhoo, the "S" is to represent the body of the cat, put the head in that position because it made sense out of any other versions there were and I just finished it with a tail on the other end. Thanks! I'll have to put more time into it.
I have to agree with Jon. While I like the idea behind this, I don't think it's working at all.
One quick tip: if you want your S/cat to mesh nicely with the rest of the characters, make sure that they have the same weight. Here, you just made the S bigger, throwing off any homogeneity you had.
And also, don't make things more complicated than they already are. You don't need this weird and frankly purposeless diagonal bars in the S.
To conclude, I still stick to my initial comment about making this whole thing hand drawn: symbol, letters, everything. Right now, it's looking too stiff and goofy. It can be a pretty ambitious endeavor, but if you put enough work on it, in can work.
Good luck!
Ah! That makes total sense, should have kept the first tip in mind. I thought about drawing everything from scratch but I was't sure if it was necessary and thought to try pulling it off with fonts first buuuut...yeah. It does seem like it could be difficult and quite challenging just because I've never attempted to do typography by hand but yeah I will definitely make my next version all hand drawn.
A google search for a shoe cat (which reminded me of you) found me this cat from shutterstock instead... as the shoe cat is lost to me now.
This looks like an 'S', is sophisticated and sleek, simple, and looks like a cat at quick glance.
You are in the right direction with the tall thin letters though, but that bar of blue on the letters isn't working.
I think you would be better suited using something simple and catlike for your logo.
i found it "aggressive" !
