I don't mind the symbol, but the lettering is way to fussy and hard to read. Whatever effect you have on idea.design.connect needs to go. The drop shadows aren't doing you any favors either. Think about designing in black and white first then apply color. Imagine if you had to have this logo digitized for embroidery...it simply wouldn't work very well.

There is no such thing as "designers contest". There are just a bunch of websites that make designers work for free promising them a meager reward if they "win". But the designer rarely wins. Read more about it here : http://www.nospec.com/what-is-spec

That being said, this logo is terrible and simplifying it won't solve anything. It must be totally overhauled and restarted from scratch.
