Strike Zone Cafe

Brief from client 

The company I work for tasked me with creating a conceptual logo for a cafe in a bowling alley called "Strike Zone". They asked for it to match the 50s style of the bowling alley's existing logo, and to incorporate both bowling and baseball for the 'strike' concept.

I showed them what I have so far and they like it. I wanted to upload it here to see if I can get any suggestions for improvements while keeping the basic concept in mind, if possible.

I don't have a design background so I would appreciate any constructive criticism. Thank you!

I actually prefer this in black and white...or black with a splash of red. but that's me!
