I'm not sure how I feel about the gray box/shading that surrounds the whole thing- could you see what it looks like without the box- just keep the sphere and "Sy-Tech" below it? It might look a lot cleaner. Also, are the lines supposed to be there in the darker area of the sphere? The rest of the shading/coloring is so smooth and then all of sudden there are lines in the darker spot and it's kind of distracting.
This is nice. Would like to see a 2D version without any effects. Did you try to create a type that would also use the "S" shape in the symbol as the "S" in "Sy" and similar other letters? It might bring more unity to the entire presentation to have type that blends with the symbol. It's really pretty good though.
No, this is not good. Never ever use the bevel/emboss effect in a logo. It makes it look cheap and unprofessional
The curves aren't right which makes the whole thing really messy.
Overall, it looks a lot like the Sony Ericsson logo.
