Brief from client
This a job for my boss so he gave me free reign to come up with something
The Worx is a company name for an independent signage consultant.
Ive have played around with quite a few different ideas - mainly joining of letters and a little bit of colour work but i think this is the result im most happy with. Normally i wouldnt use gradients but when i put this next to the flat colour versions it looks way better. What do you guys think?

Here's an example of stationery
Wouldn't the gray line interfere with text?
No it shouldn't be a problem, there's loads of headed paper out there that has watermarks in the background. Its only 10% Black so hardly shows up when printed. Once there's some black or dark grey text on there it should be fine.
This looks pretty cool!
It's a detail, but I would fine tune the ligature between the and the X some more.
Other than that, this is pretty bang on. Great job Matt!
Thanks mate! I see what you mean just a tiny bit of fine tuning needed on that ligature! I have done a load of slightly different versions with different ligatures - should i upload them as one image in the comments?
Sure!
Is this logo medicine related? I'm getting that vibe from the RX. Looks nice otherwise, though.
read the description, that might help
Ah, yes. Yes it would.
In any case, that was my first thought as to what the target audience was. Could be problematic, but it's executed well.
haha! Yea perhaps, personally i dont see it being a problem myself. Thanks for the comments
I ♥ it when gradients work and don't look old and hacked together!
I hope you lead the charge with a glorious comeback!
oh no- not a gradient comeback!!! I have managed somehow to never use a gradient in a single design!!! (and I don't ever plan to! lol)
Gradient Comeback is the name for my new band.
One hit wonder!!! lol ;)
In the logo only image- I kind of want the "the" to be in that blue shade that it sits above (like the W) because it looks a little disconnected in grey. But I like the use of grey with the logo in your cards, stationery ect.
This looks solid for a logo tho, good job.
Here some of the ideas i was working with. Is there any here you think are better?
I prefer a left bottom and my second choice bottom center.
4th row, far right is nice as well- I think it, and the one you chose, are the best ones. Some of the "swooping" letters look a little forced on a few of these.
Splendid job! Not a fan of gradient and " the ", but it works here. On top of all the comments and suggestions want to mention on your " W ". I really like how " R " and " X " are joined and was thinking if you could try to make " W " like that, too. That would only solidified this concept, what do you think?
I think if you could , also, extend " W " as you did on upper part of " X " and then angle it to match " X " - that would help a " the " part of your concept to find its placement, too.
thanks for the comments! I did actually try that early on but it makes the W become much to wide to suit with the rest of the letters, i did think it would be a good idea too though! Maybe i should try it again but change the angle of the X and W so they match but change the angle to some happy medium where the letters dont become to wide
