Time In Future Company Logo
Matthew J Carter | Tue, 07/07/2015 - 03:36
Brief from client
Client wanted to display a tree or flower using like colors and at the same time explain what the company does.
Logo design 101: never EVER use a clip art in your logo. This one is pretty obvious, considering the contrast between the well designed tree and the horrendous font work. Ho and also, the watermark is still visible!!
Using somebody else's work in your logo is uncreative, lazy and above all dishonest.
I guess you are new to the logo design business, so I'll count this as a beginner's mistake. I hope you'll learn from it.
Creating a logo is not just sitting in front of a computer and drag an image that you think useful for your work.
The design requires time to draw all the ideas you can think of and so get what you really want.
Well, as if using clip arts wasn't bad enough... Literally stealing from another logo is beyond stupid. And I'm not even mentioning the clear case of copyright infringement you got yourself into if this is noticed.
Seriously, I looked at your logos, your website, I even saw that "war room" video you posted on YT... It feels like you had a bunch of money and felt like playing the big shot creative designer. But this is not how it works. Money and swag don't replace experience and hard work.
And this one looks pretty damn close, too. Even thought, Matthew, you made some cosmetic changes in a form of a lobster claws, change the time, made clock look as a sniper aim - the idea is the same.

Very bad!
You have to investigate more about graphic design to avoid making these mistakes.

Here is the original logo that was made by someone else.
So he copies another logo.
Matthew, stop trying to insult our intelligence. Can you not come up with your own content?
Good catch Felix.
