Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Brief from client
redesign the public library logo to reflect the Michael Graves landmark building, and that this particular library is on the cutting edge of library service and technology.
Simple graphic representation of the TSCPL building, a landmark in the Topeka area. The icon part of the logo is indicative of the modern style and function of the library, clean, streamlined service all housed in one building that is easily accessible to the citizens of Topeka & Shawnee County. The font [Michelangelo] is used through out the building in directional signage, so is a nice tie to the physical structure. The icon part of the logo is intended to be usable on its own as a recognizable representative of the library. In addition it is intended to be used with photographs of library patrons or activities at the library making up the graphic elements in the shapes of the logo.

Graphic mark looks simple and strong but I think you missed with the typography. Simple and clean sans serif would fit better here.
It's clean, it has picked up the font used elsewhere in the building for consistency, the text colours pick up the image and it aligns properly ... on its own I would alter it but to coincide with other elements in the building, it should work well.
The idea is good but the symbol needs a little bit more details, looks incomplete to me.
The simplicity is good- but you lost me with the circle.. it needs to be put in perspective.
Type isn't working at all.
