Brief from client
We are a non profit group that runs a mission in various countries.
Just want to confirm that no one else is using this logo.
This isn't a logo so much as an effort to throw in everything that shouldn't be used in a logo. The center is a low resolution jumbled pixelated mess with gradients, shadows, details that are much too small and waaaaaay too many colors. If you're nonprofit the amount of colors is something you very much need to consider because if you try to make shirts, embroidered products, pens and promotional products, etc. you will instantly see how expensive full color replication is going to be and you're going to have to pay an artist to rebuild your art into vector format. This is specifically my area of employment so I really mean to caution you about this detail as it is one where I frequently run into companies that had no idea of the costs associated.
Basically, spend the money and time upfront have a simple and proper logo designed and you will be very happy down the road with the costs of replication and it will look professional at the same time.
Thank you. My friend me asked to help out based on a concept he had. I don't do this for a living or a hobby. I did it in PPT.Thanks for the advice and critique.
Why do you want to make sure nobody's using this? Didn't you make it yourself? Did you just pick it up on the internet?
Unfortunately, this doesn't qualify as a logo. It look more like a design for a flyer or a banner. It has way too many elements, none of them vector, the font is hideous... A logo, by essence, should be simple, to the point and memorable. This retains none of these qualities.
It's just not in my habits to sugar coat things. I just tell it how it is. And you wanting to make sure it wasn't already used seemed odd to me, that's all.
But I didn't know you weren't a designer, so it's perfectly normal your attempt at a logo isn't great. There's no fault there. So I understand my comment seems a bit blunt and I apologize for that.
That being said we aren't too big on members who can't keep their cool. Please refrain from using any veiled insults. I hope you understand.
Thank you, but all the technical jargon is way over my head and what I am looking for. I am not a graphic designer, I just want to know if this "concept" has been used as an "official" company or organization logo. Yes, it's clipart and WordArt pieced together in Power Point.

The symbol is clip art I am guessing? Which means someone else created it.
You probably should not use work created by someone else!!!
As well, it is not vector format which will cause you many problems down the road.

well damn. If was a novice or a pro, I would be offended... but since you're an ... I wont even bother...
good day.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive at all.

The 'globe' concept has been done too many times to count in logo design.
The 'holding hands in a circle' concept has been done even more.
Combining both concepts doesn't help either unfortunately. When I did a quick look online I found uncountable pictures of this exact idea.
Has the idea been used in a logo before? Yes, I saw this idea in many logos. Not this exact art, but I only did a quick look.
As this is clip art, then I am confident that someone has lifted it for a logo before at least once. Any clip art will suffer the same fate.
To answer your actual question, I am positive someone is using this somewhere as a logo.
