Transwide Global Energy

Brief from client

Design a logo for a registered company in the petroleum mining business.

In this design, I wanted to capture the aspect of globe and energy and wide. I worked on a design that had a strong connotation to the name of the business.

The TRANSWIDE logotype utilises a modified diavlo font just to make it a bit different.

I really like the symbol, it works very well. Though it needs some fine tuning.

The font, not so much. I don't really get why you felt like altering it, but please don't. A font is a whole system of sizes and proportions and screwing with that is likely to wind up tits up =)

I don't feel the subtext font matches the main one.

Diavlo is a great font and its free. I was afraid that sooner or later it will get cliched and devalue the logo hence the subtle alterations. I will continue fine-tuning the symbol.

Thanks for the review.

I completely understand your reasoning, but trust me...there's a whole world of fonts out there. You'd be hard pressed not to find something that works. I've seen lots of Diavlo fonts lately, so rather than distorting it to make it original, I'd simply just look for one.

You'd be surprised how many free fonts there are that haven't been used before. Free doesn't always mean bad.

not a fan of the font you've used, as for the symbol i think i like it, but i don't see the link with the company. about the colors i don''t like the 2 shades of blue you have in your text and subtext.
