its kind of hard to critique with out any details about what it should be and why you did it, i would loose the dark gradients, and the out lines.
Refine it alot more, your alignment looks pretty good for your first time, usually its all jacked. not bad for a first attempt.

Agree with Stephen. The lines at the bottom need to join or something to eliminate the notch...that or make it so both notches are similar.

Here's a tip: don't create some random logos out of the blue. Come up with a fake business, or pick one up which has no logo and go for it. A logo needs to represent certain values and ideas that you can't have without a proper "client", may it be real or made up.

Also, never start the creative process directly on the computer. First, get some inspiration, on site like this one and www.logopond.com or www.dribbble.com

Then let go of the mouse and sketch. Like a lot. Do not go back to the computer until you have a clear idea of what you want. Softwares like Illustrator are an execution tool, not a creation tool.
