Updated craft distillery logo

Brief from client

n/a

I slapped together our original logo over 4 years ago (can be seen in our profile photo at fb.com/deerhammer). Never felt like the original was all that resolved so I've recently reworked it a bit. It's sort of a "stay in the lines" makeover -- can't really depart too much from the original, but I'm starting to dig the new direction. I'd really appreciate any feedback before committing to a change.

Very nice! Perhaps I should clean the barrel and the horns vectors and recline the first D and the last R too..
Which fonts did you use?

Appreciate the feedback. I'll take that advice into account on the next iteration. For fonts... Gringo up top and Muchacho on the bottom.

THX! Maybe I should make a little more light the bold parts of the decorations.

Is it just me, or should the layer behind the text be centered, not offset to the right throughout the word? If that makes any sense...

I think the drop shadow is a problem. behind the decorative elements to the left and right of the barrel, the drop shadows go toward the center. On the wording they all go to the lower right. Is the barrel your own design or clip art? I am also thinking the large A is distracting. That would suggest the name of the company is Deerh Ammer. Just my thoughts. This is a nice start.

Thanks for the input. I'll take a look at the dropshadow falling symmetrically. The barrel+antlers is my own doing, but I think I'm going to take into account the advice above about cleaning it up a bit. I've never considered the extended A as a potential element for breaking up the wording, but it's a good point and I'll take that into account on the next goround.

Eye candy alert!!

I really globally love this. It's nice and tight, vintage and the tilted barrel is a nice touch.

The one thing I'm not really feeling however is the two hooks on each side of the barrel. They feel kinda out of place and not really consistent with the two smaller one below.

About the thing that could.should be fine tune is indeed the drop shadow, as it's been pointed out. And though the bigger A didn't bother at first, I see how it could be problem, mainly because there is an uneven number of letters of each side. There are 10 letters in the name, hence the tip of the curve should be between the H and the A. It'd be easier if there was an odd number of characters, but this is not the case here.

I don't really mind the dirt on the barrel, but I think it should spread equally to the rest of the logo. Either have it all distressed or all clean.

Anyhoo, this is a mighty find job that could use some fine tuning. Keep it up!
