Brief from client
An idea I have been playing with for a new logo. I love the idea of using negative space. We specialize in web design/development and internet marketing. Comments and criticism would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'll try to get one up. Generally the logo will be overlaying a photo but on more basic items like documents etc it will be black and white with gold for the text/tag line.
This would look really cool frosted into glass with that view in the background. I think this looks great but I do agree that the subtext should extend a little further left. I think it would be cool if you lined up the angles of the V's so they're on one plane.
I dont like the white triangle space that is created from the V and the N. You must find a way to make them look the same, even the empty line must be exactly the reflection of each other. Maybe by changing the form shape into a rectangle. U must try to find a way for that to become more a harmonies logo. Look to the text blow. It looks out and not part of the entire logo. Better if it is centered.
Bravo. It's clean, organic and creative. I love the triangular quadrants and use of neg space. This design is also versatile; It will work on letterhead...biz cards...on a glass window...on a wall (imagine using 3D brushed aluminum in an office lobby)...and you can even make the quadrants different colors if you want.
And if anyone is left scratching their head...although I don't think it's too abstract, the name under the logo spells it out for them. In addition, the name underneath actually completes the design by following the V formation...and continuing that neg space (maybe pump the name up one point size, as it's slightly off).
Actually my past version the edge of the V in the logo lined up perfectly with the edge of the V in the lettering, thanks for pointing it out, must of hot lost along the road. And yes I think the best part of it is the potential to use it as a big watermark on letterheads, signs etc. thanks.
I agree with the previous poster; I'd like to see a solid-color version and a solid-black one to see how the logo integrates in different uses. Otherwise, very clever and sharp-looking; wish I'd thought of it first!

I like the idea, I think it is smart. The tagline looks to me as if it should be longer, maybe extend all under the logo.
Very nice job! well done! i would leave the tag line how you have it as it looks like it lined up with the diagonal from the V which is nice
Thanks, that's how I used to have it noticed on this version it's slightly off, but that's the idea.
Now I see. You're right, thanks.
Cool use of negative space. I'd like to see a version without the picture in the background.

Thanks the issue with having all the letters the same angle is it makes it very hard to distinguish that it actually says "VNM".
I could see that. Either way, me likes.
Excellent logo. A straight A+ for you =D
Love this place, thanks, its good to hear people love it as much as I do.

I have attempted this the problem is it makes the VNM less distinguishable.

Thanks ill post a reply to this in the evening with a link to the black and white version.
So far I liked the logo and just like others said I would also like to see another version of the logo without this background.
It's GREAT!!!
Definiately need a sample without the photographic background.
