Overall, I think this works pretty darn well. The one thing that popped out at me right away is that the kerning seems seems like it MIGHT be a little off (like a LITTLE little!) but that could just be the forward tilt of the font playing tricks on my eyes!?!
I think the font works perfectly to portray the 'electric' feeling- and same with the symbol. It kind of reminds me of a comic book character's sign or something- simple but effective.
(And OH MY COD I just now noticed after typing all that out that it's YOU! He/she who hates me with such passion.) Thhhhpt! I suppose I should delete my comments now, seeing as you won't give them any weight anyway, right?
haha yes it's me.. i am sorry for being mean to you.. ive been in a lot of critiques and definitely over stepped my boundaries on that one.. it's just ill supreme is my baby.. a lot of money, time, and effort invested in the company.. and it is definitely growing a lot faster than i thought, mostly because of the logo.. which is why i was upset with a negative review.
and for this one, it's gotta be the all caps and slant playing tricks.. i didnt open the space up at all.. just typed it and left it. i've been told that the logo reminds some people of the "SS" nazi logo. i accept that, but i also accept that it looks like lighting more. It started off as one bolt, but my buddy pointed out that it was "The Flash" logo. I don't know why i didn't see that beforehand.

Hey man, no problem at all! I read all of your responses just now, we all have those kinds days every now and then- and I definitely know how personal it can feel to have one of your special projects is on the line! Glad we figured it out!! :)
This is looking good. I really didn't see the SS symbol and even when you told about people telling you it looks it, I was still not bothered.
Now about the font. The one you picked works very well and help to give your logo a unique identity. But the tracking is waaaay off. I know it's pro bono work, but it looks so cool that 1-) it deserves some serious fine tuning and 2-) YOU deserves to get paid! Never work from free, even for friends or neighbours =)
This is nice and works well. The comic reference I think sara was thinking of could be the old "Flash Gordon" logo.

Your neighbor got a great deal. Great retro vibe at work here. Since the typography is so important, I might spend a little time getting in there and finessing the letterspacing a bit more – the WIL and the RIC seem tight to me. Great job. The next time you need electric work done, I hope your neighbor will come running!
