I would choose a bolder font and simplify the drawing of the whale, so it could be identified even in a smaller size.

(may be) u can add weight for the font used ...also align the letters to the top of the whale's back (not the water drops) ...

Very good! i would flip the whale because then its tail will be on the left making the letter "a" a tiny bit more obvious

I live in South Africa and we have the "Hermanus Whale Festival" every year, as Hermanus is where the whales come to mate... and this logo would fit in perfectly... I LOVE IT!!!
