That's the kind of logo which makes me think there definitely should be a fifth criteria about composition. Because if the symbol is interesting, the boring font and the fact that it's totally not centered ruins this logo.

Look, I thought that one of the version you posted had an interesting "ideogram" look to it. But i'm not sure that would be something you would experiment on further. I think a few more try and you can find a way to create an interesting monogram.

f is to be tweaked in order to be aligned with e (have the same height) , boring font and lack of personality, choose another, center the elements = try again.
