Brief from client
Not applicable in this instance.
Turned the logo 90 degrees as suggested to make the "b" and "g" stand out more. Also edited the stem of the "b" and tail of the "g" to see what it would look like without being mirrored. Finally, I made the logo clean white and used a rounded rectangle to create the color background and make the overall image square.

Love it. I'd go one step further and mirror the 'g' exactly as it would work as a 'b' then you've got 100% consistency.. which is nice :p
I'd also try rotating 45 degrees anticlockwise, but that's just something i'd try.. it may not work.
Good work though =)
just an idea...
Thanks mate, much appreciated. I was just off playing with your ideas. Maybe it's just me, but I see an "8" and smart quotes now more than a "b" and "g." You see it?
without the guideline...
Your partner's logo is indeed utter shite compared to this. But this is not finished. You need to sort out how text is going to work out with.
But this is definitely a valuable effort.
Good job!
Thank you! Here's my first idea for text with this new version.
This makes much more sense! This is light years ahead of your partner's version. Hope you win out!
Thanks! Yeah, he's starting to see the light. :)
Looks much better. Great job. I think the example you posted with the typography is a decent solution. I would have suggested to line it along the side, myself.
Agreed with Jon though, have the stems match. That way the symmetrical design makes more sense
Like this?
Yes, but create better visual balance between the two. The symbol is tiny compared to the text. It might be the excess spacing. I think it would be okay if it wasn't perfectly aligned with the edges.

Thank you, appreciate the support.
Can you post a new version of the text with the symbol please.. also i prefer the symbol with the g flipped to make the b, it makes it a bit more cleaver and the mirror effect is pretty cool.
I agree with M@, I prefer the mirrored version, and diagonal as Jon suggested.
I'm okay with the font selection for the text but it's a little mundane. Could you try another?
Don't get me wrong, I really like this. It's very good work.
