Brief from client
'Charles: all natural cookies' is a new brand selling chocolate chip cookies. The company started in a kitchen. The most important words that should come to mind are: Artisan, exclusive, natural and fun.

And here's the black und white version, for better comparison with the previous one.
Great job, it does look better now that you cleaned it up. And now, seeing the sketch above, I kinda like the way the "r" is made, it gives it a unique look.
great!
Awesome job! looks great!
It's better, but I thought you would redraw it, with the upstroke/downstroke I told your about. It'd be more dynamic that way. It's still need some fine tuning (yeah I know, this mother takes forever, but it's totally worth it)
Keep the ligatures as they are. The R is perfect.
I modified the strokes slightly :) I also tried to change them somewhat more, but that was 'too dynamic'. Thanks for your feedback though, I'll keep that in mind while designing future logos ;)
But, indeed some finetuning to do!
Technical question: do you use a graphic tablet?
Nope, The ol' paper, pencil, mouse and keyboard.
If you really take a liking with hand lettering, you should definitely invest in a graphic tablet. It changed the way I approach graphic design in general and hand lettering in particular. Check out the Wacom Intuos 4. It can be a bit priceu, though nothing much to the 2000$ Cintiq, but it's a great tool, especially for hand lettering.
This is really great. After the necessary cleanup, the chosen colours have added the dynamic that this deserves. I'd take on board what Shawali advised and implement it, but it's not a disaster if you don't.
Lovely logo. Would like to see some mockups now for pure pleasure :p
Here's one! Not finished yet :)
My eyes are immediately drawn to the ligature between the "c and h", it seems to be an unnatural connection. The text underneath the logo seems a little disconnected, like maybe larger or tracked out more? Other than that, I like the flow of the type and the styling on the "r". I'm thinking the period at the end is for styling, but from a designers' point of view, it draws my attention unnecessarily. Overall, nice feel and great detail work.
It is very similar to the work of César Puertas, Colombian typographer.
So what?
Has César Puertas invented the name Charlie? If so, I've been plagiarizing him for the last 34 years =)
More seriously, if your only feedback is to insinuate that there is plagiarism at play just because it somehow looks like something that has been done somewhere in the world, don't bother.
I'm not judging, it was just a simple comment.
César Puertas not think the name, it is a fast food restaurant in the city of Bogota. The only work for an agency called LIP for the Lettering.
