Brief from client
DAX-The Decorated Apparel Expo-is looking for a new logo for their 20th Anniversary. This is what I came up with. I have a few variations of this, but I think this is the strongest. All feedback welcome!

Good job
I concur with my esteemed colleague. That's a mighty fine job.
The difference was in the details.
Good job!
Okay, as creator said that in his brief : " all feedback welcome " - then I'm going to use this opportunity to say what I think, too. I like a spacing between letters in a first version due to a fact that here was a breathing room unlike this one. Moving main text away from a sub text is a right thing to do. What I have a problem with is is a " D " versus the other two geometrical letters, as in my humble opinion it doesn't fit well. Perhaps making a " D " as a triangle like " A " - would be a better solution and then a whole composition would look uniform. I'm including a rough sketch that I made. I'm not really sold on that font. Why there are small spaces in each letter, why not making a solid line?? The last thing that I want to address is a sub text says " decorated apparel expo " - then letters above should have been
" D A E ". Hope that my comment will pass.
Sorry, the sketch you provided looks nothing like DAX. Also, it's common for expos to have X in place of E. In any case, that wasn't my responsibility.
For me i do like this logo, it definitely works! But i cant help feeling that the whole thing is a bit to boring and forgettable for an expo logo... sorry!
Im sure you have done some research but when i do a quick search for expo logos on google it shows that they seem to have a bit more excitement and a bit more of a wow factor.
Or this version - same idea with a cut out inside.
