Brief from client
I'm rebranding and I needed an easy to remember company name, one that needed little explanation. I work in rural surroundings and the fantail birds visit me often so I wanted to make this bird my symbol - where I could use it with or without text and be interchangeable to brightly coloured backgrounds.

Not many positive comments on the font I used initially so I've played around for an hour with little progress. A few times I've taken it right back to basics with a serif font which is clean and non-interferring with the symbol. Am I right?
The little circles are stickers that I will produce to put on packaging to clients. I've also made the circle 'less perfect' with a brushed edge. Oh, and gone with a retro brown to compliment the pastels. Constructive criticism welcomed.
i think a condensed sans font underneath would work better, and dont make the font to big either, i would almost be inclined to make Designwise the same width as the symbol if not a tiny bit shorter than the symbol. I like the brown/blue combo but i dont like the roughed up circle, i think the last circle you had was better.. definately getting there tho!
Heres an idea for you, the brown stroke round the circle is a little too fat on it but i done it quickly, i would probably try to get that stroke the same thickness of the text below it.
I agree, this version looks better.
My problem is that I think of twitter immediately. It will create confusion. Think of something unique.
Well I didn't think twitter until now (doh!). Maybe the blue added to that trigger. I am attached to the Fantail so will keep it. Appreciate where you're coming from tho.
I might try using a type that uses all calls, but not necessarily the same size. I would also try to make the outlines more similar in size. The circle outline should probably have a consistent stroke. The brown color doesn't work for me at all.
