Brief from client
This will be my own personal Logo.
My name is Erik and i wanted to come up with a personal graphic designing logo. I'm not too sure on the name just yet but so far this is what I came up with. What do you guys think? Does the logo/names work?

I think the symbol looks pretty cool but I read "erk" instead of Erik. Have you tried it with the dot at the top yet? The colors are nice and bold but I really can't get onboard with the subtext font.
I did try it with the dot on top but i thought it would be a bit more interesting with it on the bottom. Any recommendations on a font that would work?
Not specifically but I would definitely keep it sans serif. The condensed look seems to work with this so I do like that aspect. You might even try something with a bit more weight. You have an interesting symbol so I feel the subtext would do more justice if it was more straight forward.
The upside down "i" does look interesting. What about separating legs of the "k" from the "i?" It might give you that visual break to recognize there are two characters.
