I don't know if the font you have is a placeholder. But Matt has the right idea. Finding a font similar to what you find on cigarette cartons would drive the idea home.
This is one instance where a mathematically correct image almost works as a visually attractive logo. So good job there. Personally I would extend the descender of the P to make even more visual impact. Either that, or I would narrow the whole thing down on the outer rim to create more of a gap on the bottom left side.

Great idea for the symbol, the GP monogram is readable & the continuous line is a bit like rising smoke.
Since it's for a collector, maybe it could look more like a classic carton, with a serif font in gold like this:

I don't like how the descender of the "p" floats in front. It feels unintentionally spatially incorrect
