GLIFO MEDIA
Brief from client
This is the logo we are creating for our agency, we are a small team of 2 graphic designers and a programmer, we are located in zumpango, a small city in México. Glifo Media (“Glifo” is the Spanish word for “Glyph”) is a digital agency with focus on web design, systems creation and multimedia development (video, 3d animation, interactive games and apps) we believe in creating simple solutions for medium and small business that are new to the digital world. We want to be seen as a modern digital agency but maintaining a prehispanic look, the idea behind this is mixing the new digital world with the old roots from the prehispanic world .
The idea is to use 2 glyphs one from the mayan culture an one of the aztec culture, the first one is the basic from of the mayan Glyph that represent “days” and create the letter "G" with it . The point over the letter “i” is the nauhatl symbol that represent communication (“popoca”) and its commonly used in the prehispanic codex. The rest of the fonts are completely geometric.
We want to use the logo as if it were engraved in stone and also as simple lines for the different uses. We would love to have some feedback that could help us perfect the logo.

You try to cram too many elements in one logo.
The G is not proportional with the rest of the text. The font it self looks too basic.
Good luck.
Thank you for your comments and critique.
I will continue working on the typography.
About having too many elements, I do not fully understand if you mean graphically or conceptually. Because I didn’t consider that the glyphs were too much ornament.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and help me.
Overall its a 4 out of 10
it has a good idea behind it, but the way it is now is not working,
try to simplify it a little on the elements and have everything proportionate.
Thank you for your feedback. I have uploaded version 2 but i'm still workin on some extra changes, thank you very much for your comments and help.
