Ink Design

Brief from client
The client wanted to use the idea of a feather and ink to be used in their logo. The color was our choice.
I decided to go with a different symbol, feathers are normally clean & uniform but I wanted to test that. The client has a very abstract way of designing, hoping they like it. Its very bold, but there is a lot of potential with the simplicity and form. The "ink design" could also be used by itself in the right circumstances.
Not totally sold on the blue, I was thinking about using a tan or brown (indian ink).

if you are going to run with the feather idea then you could use a more inviting feather. This one looks quite scruffy, overpowering and not really appealing. the idea is nice but could be executed better. Try the tan brown as this may improve the overall look.
It still looks like an angry octopus, just from the back this time.
Cutting thru letters did not do what you hoped for, instead it ruined fairly good typography.
How about you take some more time to re-think this.
I agree ... I would simplify your feather so that it's more cohesive with the style of your typography. I like the idea. Also, play with the tracking of the word 'design' so that the 'd' is under the second downstroke of the 'n' in 'ink'. Right now the word looks too crunched.
i think as "kimBLiSS" explained.... and i like this color matching.
if you manage to find a way to mix that feather and font you will be in for the money.
