Brief from client
For a friend...I tried playing with J & G and even though I had various versions. I thought I do share this version.
Trying to become a designer. Appreciate all feedback.
A couple of things. First, the way you have it reads "GJ." And even then, it's illegible. All I see is some geometric spiral. Might want to spend some time coming to a solution there.
Second, it's better to stick to one style throughout. The symbol is geometric; why not pick a more geometric font to go with it? There are tons out there, scroll through your library and I'm sure you'll find one.
Finally, make sure you align your text with the symbol a bit more. Pretend there's an imaginary rectangle around your text. Make it the same width as your symbol, while maintaining proper proportions.
Ok I find the idea you are going for is really interesting, but I have to agree with TheKillswitch on a few points.
One work on the G and J to make them look like they fit and not some odd looking spiral. Two, stick with one style it will make it easy for you, I think you could find a much better font to match this.
I don't mind the rectangle, but see how it might look on its own with out it just to try things out. Not crazy on the red myself since I feel its kinda slapping at my eyes and feels too 'bright' I will say?

Good luck.

Thank you guys. I finally got some free time today to re-work on this. Updating it now.
