For a friend...I tried playing with J & G and even though I had various versions. I thought I do share this version.

Well I like this one much better than the other one but...have you tried putting the J and G on top of each other and reversed in a block to make is seam more of a logo mark? Like Killswitch says keep trying. I like the logo mark only on version 1 and 2. Try 2 in a shape and reversed maybe.
