Brief from client
Use black and gold. Clean and professional, yadda yadda cliche "I want a logo" terms. Avoid looking like Century 21.
Here's another stab at this one. I modified the symbol a bit and tried the text back out on one line and in a single font.

Shane has a point. I'd steer away from the plain generic house symbol.
Think about what elements can symbolize the idea of home. A knob, a door mat, a driveway, etc...
I agree with shanuea - the driveway isn't working. It doesn't sit right with me in its shape and where it leads.
Also script fonts are a tightrope and i'm not a fan of this one, but glad the customer picked one and you can put it to bed.
Get paid but don't put it in the portfolio is the way it sometimes goes. Clients often kill design.
