Are you trying to show the negative space of the A and the M?
For now it does not mean more than 2 triangles. Maybe when you add the type it will start to make more sense, then people can relate and understand what you want to say without the need to explain.
I feel that you should change the background to white. I just don't like the fact that there is white and black in the same picture. I feel like you're trying to be racist or something, making the white part really small and having the black overpower the white and just being huge.
Nope, this is not working, unfortunately. I see what you tried to do, but it's a bit too simplistic. And yes, you should work with a white background, logos winding up most of the time on paper =)
Also, this is not complete, you're missing the text. Hard to make a complete judgement with out it.

This really is too minimal. The first thing I saw was elevator buttons.

Or making the white part black would probably work almost as well, i could see apple paying good money for that kind of logo
