Brief from client
A logo for a music based group R.E.D.M (Rock and Electronic Dance Music)
Removed the turntable and changed the fingers on the rockfist to the equalizer bars in the REDM type.
Removal of a turntable didn't improve your concept. The main issues lays in your symbol where two plain red folded fingers in a center are in two different thickness and not align properly - that is one issue. The second issue is how you made the top and bottom shapes on these - they resembles a wooden fence somehow, but not a human fingers.Third issue is the razor blade sharp ends on the rest of the fingers.Sorry to say this - but right now a symbol looks very much like a dead ant eater on his back. I do like your idea to mix equalizer bars into fingers and you should make more sketches to see how it will play out. My suggestion is to make a palm more recognizable along with fingers. Perhaps, consider making a lower part of the palm into a turntable and a top with extended fingers, maybe? Now in your typography with texture in the mix an " E " start reading " F " from a distance and will do so when it will be downsized. Keep the letters solid and simple without any cuts at each end.Try to make equalizer bars from the bottom of each letter to middle and see how it might work. Good luck!
Yup, this it not working at all. Overall, it's way too cluttered. Forget about the distress treatment on the font, it's gimmicky and dated.
The audio level thingies between the letters have to go to. It just complicates thing even more than they already are and bring nothing, especially since you already have them in the hand.
Speaking about that hand, the idea isn't bad, but again, it's way too complicated. Keep things simple. I can see how this might work, but I'll let you find it on your own.

Pro tip: let go of your mouse and sketch.
Good luck.
