S&R - Smail & Richards Electrical Services

Brief from client
Whole new rebrand for a long established electrical company based in Jersey C.I.
the company is more referred to as S&R so this must be prominent.
large amount of work they do is commercially based.
They have used blue on there branding before and want to keep that, but are open to ideas on any other colours that might work with blue.
Ultimately they need a new fresh logo that will be used on vehicles and stationery.

Very nice stuff, great logo. The only thing I don't like is the electrical services part with the two pictures on the side. I'd trash those, so they don't draw your attention away from the logo's main part.
Once i eventually saw the electric plug in the &-character, I found the logo nice. Not bad at all - just took me a while wondering what the two little blocks were meaning.... Then I agree with oscarthegrouch about the two lines next to the bottom text.
thanks, any suggestions on how i can make the plug look more obvious without losing the & ?
I love the logo as is!
maybe shorten the electrical lines at the bottom to bump up the text a bit.
But i think it works great i saw the plug right away!
Beautiful logo to me... Great Work M@
Many Thanks Monito!
I too saw the plug right away. I too agree with oscar and monito S&R looks great as is! Way better than your newer revision! I honestly don't think that you need the pulse glyphs on the sides of electrical services as well as it comes off as too "common" for an electric company. Maybe in one line just have it say "Smail & Richards Electrical", No need to put services in there as we already know that its an electrical company - and also since they're well known. And make that font that light blue like you have it for "Electrical services" I hope that makes sense lol.
makes perfect sense and a great suggestion! ill have a talk with the client to see what we can do about the name. Thanks!
Yep yep yep, I love this! The only thing I'd do is take off the little lines/dots at the bottom near the subtext! (Oh hell, I'd even remove the subtext altogether if i could!?) Nice job!
Just sign "&" need to more right
This growing international standard was adopted for its distinctive appearance, to reduce the likelihood of dangerous confusion of safety grounding wires with other electrical functions, especially by persons affected by red-green colour blindness. http://www.ajelectric.co.uk/
