This is a nice idea, but there are too many small details, which may not work well for a logo that needs to be printed on many different surfaces with various techniques, and be recognizable at small sizes, or at great distances. Also the typography is too condensed.
American tourist in Japan? too many colors... non sequitor
go back to doing more research then the drawing board. again, just making a lot of different ideas is something to do in sketch process, then give us what you've narrowed it down to...
It is another version of a kimono with more white spaces between sakura flowers and olympic rings rested on the front part of a wrap decor. I think that I stylized too much and took away readability that way. I'll work on this one to get it done.

oh wow, I totally didn't even register komono. maybe that's my fault? maybe choose very traditional kimono design? simpler colors?
Probably should use your own art if you want your submission to go anywhere.
Edit: never mind I see that the date for submissions has passed.
Plagiarism is not acceptable in logo design, or on this forum.
But come on dude...
At least don't copy from other Tokyo Olympic logos when you are making your own Tokyo Olympic logo.
That's like stealing from Betty Crocker in the Betty Crocker bake off.
If you want even the slightest chance of not getting caught in the act of theft (again) then at least be sneakier about it...
wow, my respect just fell through the flloor into the basement.
