Brief from client 

Personal branding / corporate identity

*No hexagon shape
*Fully spelled out 'Visual Aid' rather than just the VSL/AID which was said could be confusing.

This looks nice but im still unsure whether i like it or not! i dont no whether the whole text and cross in a pair of glasses make for a good logo or whether it looks a bit odd! it might be an idea to come up with a logo and use the glasses as a symbol rather than being the whole shape of the logo

I mean - the focal point clearly is just the company name.
On the off chance the name blows up and people know the symbol, that's all I'll need to use. There'll be no need for the text.

The glasses + first aid/red cross symbol I am hoping very blatantly come across as 'visual' and 'aid'.. or something close. Hence the idea and concept.
I could play around with type placement and/or typography itself a bit.
