Brief from client
Current restaurant brand is of a compass and script font, but it's not a seafood place. New owners are looking for something more contemporary and less blue plate special looking.

The other logo was more appropriate for a family restaurant. Font and color. This new logo suggests a gourmet restaurant. Like both.
When you say the other logo, are you referring to the green and brown spoon or blue and brown fork?

I really like the logo. It would look great for advertising but it just doesn't look like a "family restaurant" logo. Looks kind of based toward the cafe type crowd. That's just the feeling I am getting from it.

The overall look works for me. The color in the icon seems a little dull. Need some POP to it. Find a vibrant color & it really would make the logo more family friendly
