Brief from client
Expleo is small business that delivers all kinds of IT services. Expleo wants a "minimalistic" looking logo. Expleo's slogan is "embrace innovation".

First things first that chain/link thing? Looks like a tissue box :D
But all jokes aside about your logo, I think the symbol looks fine as it is right now. Your font is where it gets hard which is where i think you need to put in more work.
It doesn't connect well with the symbol like they are two strangers. Bring them more together! And your kerning at the upper word is a bit off. Look at the spacing near the E and the X and the P etc. About the slogan well thats not really your job so you cant go wrong either way. Good job.
Hmm. I feel like the symbol is being made more complicated, not simpler.
Mind if I share an idea for inspiration?
I like what you have done with the symbol - its quite innovative! The font however looks a little too plain and has some kerning issues, especially in the sub text. Try some other fonts and perhaps some different compositions.
The idea is good but the execution is lacking. I would work a bit more with the type so it looks less like you just typed it out on Microsoft Word. I would also keep playing the symbol, the idea is there but it is just lacking, it doesn't have the slick modern feel of technology. Good start, keep going!
Ok thanks all! I'll look at the typography now, I hope it can make the logo look slick in total. Right now, my creativity for the symbol is kinda low. :p
It's getting there. I think something to consider is that your graphic has a bit of a tilt to it, so pairing the strait up and down text next to it is creating a bit of awkward spacing. Not trying to sway your design, but the bit that Killswitch has above looks a bit more like it fits, just because there is some spacing that makes sense in regard to the graphic ends with a vertical line, standing next to the text that starts with a vertical line. Just something to think about.
Something that might help is to try and design your logo without the tagline, then after the logo is perfected, incorporate the tagline after. The graphic looks good, your typography can use a bit of work, but I think the tagline is actually dragging the main type down a bit, mostly because it doesn't look like the tagline is aligned with anything in particular. I can't think of any logo off the top of my head that uses their tagline in every instance as a physical part of the logo, so maybe that's the way to go.
Just one person's thoughts. Keep at it.
Agreed, build the logo from the ground up. Your symbol is the foundation. The typography comes afterward to compliment it.
And yeah, my idea was only presented to help inspire, not to replace :)
Good thinking! I'll make a version without tagline (I think the client only uses the tagline on hus business card) and see what I can do. Great feedback!
"Embrace Innovation" is floating, align to right or left with the title
