Brief from client
To produce a logo for a friend of mine who will be starting a nice lil production house.
Quite a tricky job as its just the numbers 1 and 2 really, so im sure there are 1000's of ideas to try out.

Damn dude. Just damn. lol I like a lot of your submissions for this job.
I dream of letter pressed ,soft card, vinyl stickers.
Yes but no.
It looks great but I definitely read 121. I don't see the ambigram. It just look like the name of the record company is mirrored.
How about if this was used as an icon, matched with the word "1221 Records" I did have this issue myself, and went through it this way.
You have the logotype for a company, which can be the main focus, which would be the words "1221 Records" and then a brand mark, which would be the icon above.
That actually what I was thinking. This could be the brand mark, like a seal or something just for the vinyls.
That could work.
Jesus Joe, you can't just keep posting such provocative and down right explicit logo porn like this. You'll get yourself banned. Absolute filth!
:)
i completely agree with shawali i keep reading 121 not 1221 altho like you've already said it could work really well as a symbol
This is what I had hoped to hear, and I feel the same way. Its not a logo on its own, but part of the brand group. Would need to be more established before the brand can get away with this.
You know apple don't write the word apple anymore?
That's true. But their symbol is so obviously an apple they don't need to spell it out. This would be good for the future, as you say, when the label is more established, but I think at this stage you're working towards being recognizable and this is a bit confusing. Unless that's your real goal: establishment through confusion... might be a good strategy. :D
But then I would go even more cryptic, wouldn't you?
Part of this is to be cryptic to some level, I've attached an image of a business card I designed along time ago that they said they liked alot, so I've been keeping this in mind while working on these designs.
Tiny itty bitty business cards.
It's getting really narrow in here =)
