Brief from client
Old logo at my current workplace, I am devastated by how ugly are logo is. Our owner made it over 10 years ago. I took it upon myself to restyle it.

Unfortunately, your text placement isn't an improvement. It makes more sense to align the logo with the subtext than to mash it in the corner.
I would do away with the underline because it really doesn't make any sense. That, and I don't really get why the tip of the E is cut off, or the base of the B. I can see how you're trying to make the C curve around it, but you would be better off nudging it over and preserving that corner.
Overall, the design isn't entirely impressive, mostly because the C isn't that interesting to me. I'd try experimenting with it a bit more.
Look at the new Revision.
It's a good begging, but it needs more work. Keep it simple, loose the gradients and straighten the text, keep it all in the same line. The font is clean enought, but don't cut the letter.
I agree with Killswitch, post some more versions, play with it a little.
Like ditch all the gradients? I thought it added a cool element to the logo, it still looks flat enough to keep with the current trend. But to Killswitch, the underline in the C is a must that's one thing the current owner said he wanted no matter what, I don't know why but its his business so whatever he says goes. The Commercial Blueprint was a last second add in because he wanted to take a poster to a trade show repping the impending redesign. But I do want to find a better way to work it in.
Thanks guys
Yes, all gradients, keep only the two colors. Imagine, that unless the logo is full screen, you will hardly notice the gradients. as for the subtext "the commercial blueprint" is just fine for a poster, but don't link it to the actual logo. Try a version without it, keep the text straight, and see how the whole thing changes.
