Brief from client
Old logo at my current workplace, I am devastated by how ugly are logo is. Our owner made it over 10 years ago. I took it upon myself to restyle it.
I like it, well done job on upgrading an old logo! That middle bar on " E " needs to be fix to go along with the rest. I don't know what's with me - but every time I'm looking at your logo - my mind goes on that one =)
I recall the designer telling us back in version 2 that the blue underline was a silly client-imposed restriction. The whole idea that the logo has to be similar to the old logo is probably client-imposed as well.
Just another example why clients shouldn't pretend to know what's best for their logo from a design standpoint. I'm no business major, so I may always know what's best for a logo from a business standpoint, but it's extremely unfortunate that a logo can't reach its full potential because of things like keeping a shape that does nothing to add to the logo.
Moreso than any logo ever, yours needs the vital element which it lacks... an idea. You need to sit down and brainstorm the shit out of what the company does (with a pen and paper), write what its core values and products are, what direction the company needs to be heading in along with keywords, ideas.. like the branches and roots of a tree... and come up with angles for visual solutions to represent this.
The blue turd below the C is the definition of superfluous. You need to do what's said above and then bring it back to this forum in one colour, then refine it based on feedback, then maybe a little more, then finally add colour, finish it off and then you can present, sorry slam this shit down on the table to the suits at the company to blow away any whimsical notions that they're misguidedly hanging on to.. forget the "you've got to keep this" and "that's got to be included" bullshit blah blah blah.. and override it with impenetrable process and flair... I'd usually take on board what the client is specifying in many cases, but in this one, it isn't working for them, they clearly know nothing and they're impotently clinging onto nothing like scared droids.
You can do it. Kill this project to death and anyone else who stands in your way. Run forest run!!!!
The second comment was to add another rating as i'd only done 3 ratings for the first comment and I needed to give it a full rating to give you an accurate score from me`.
I spent time giving you fair and honest advice. Don't take it so personally. Do you want a load of yes men telling you lies so that you can sleep at night or do you want honesty so that you can succeed and do yourself, this logo and the company justice?!
Forgive my tone, but I stand by all of my comments.

it looks like a toothpaste logo haha :)
If you want to improve on the original logo, go all the way and remove that weird looking blue shape under the C. Simplify.
And look closely, the curves of the blue box doesn't match the C.
I do like what you did with the font, though.
