just wanted something cool, masculine but hipsterish for a camping trip retreat for men 15-50 yrs old. Needs to be able to print well on t-shirt, used on social media, etc.
version with logo inside image.

I still personally love this. It may just be my eyes, but it looks like your M is a bit thicker than the other letters??? Maybe they could all be a little thicker and a bit distressed around the edges just to match the drawing? Just a thought =)
that's a good thought. I will try that. So, do you like this version better with the words inside?
I honestly didn't have a problem with the type placement before - just a few tweaks I mentioned about the type itself- but this works for me too. It just seems a bit weak??? As in maybe thickening up the letters the same stroke weight and adding the distressing I mentioned would make it more substantial.
I actually did that thickening before I saw your comment, but thanks for feedback! about to upload newer
There is a lot of black space in the bottom section that could be utilized to make the wording larger. It would probably flow better!
