Brief from client
This is a design for me to use on upcoming business cards and websites.. I want something modern that will stand out and look clean.. The 'T.Skillen' are my initials..
A few alterations from my last logo.. Really Like how the symbols looking! Thanks 'DeaDraco' for the suggestion on getting rid of the box around it..

im really impressed with how far you have come with this logo, its really getting there! I really like the symbol but to me its screaming out for another colour to go with that blue and also i think its the perfect symbol to ad a bit of depth.
With this being said i was inspired to take your logo to what i consider could be the next level, i did this really quickly (20mins) so by no means is this perfect - the shadowing needs a bit more work and i really quickly drew around your symbol so the curves arent even.
I hope this gives you some idea of how you can take it up a gear! :)

You're 100% spot on with what you said, I'm definitely going to have a play around with some depth and adding a secondary colour.. Hopefully that will give some more emphasis on the 'T' ..

M@ - Love the idea and the green you chose.
Took on some of the Critique and here are a couple of variants.. I tried playing with some shadows to add some depth however I think I'll stick with a flat image for now..

id change the colour of your text to the colours you've used in the symbol! id also use a bolder font as your symbol is really bold and maybe make the symbol a tad smaller, also space things out a little more
