Brief from client
I really don't have much of a brief from the client other than this being for a seafood company. They sent me basic text with a photo of a shrimp curled around it. The client did mention the "tentacles" a few times so i worked out some ideas to incorporate them into the logo. I'm still playing with fonts and colors. I'll post some versions and sketches below as well. Let me know what you all think. I'm sending the first batch of logos to the client today.

Here are some additional options. I had started working on more color but we had a power surge and my battery backup is dead so I'll be redoing those. lol
Cross your T's, unless you want this to say "Riplide" :)
Bah!! I grabbed the wrong piece for that one! LMFAO!!! I have a version with the t cross removed for the shrimp to cross. I threw this back together after a power outage. That was sure careless. lol
Would love to see a color version of the photo attached in this post.
I'm not liking your version 2. I think Version 1 worked better than this even with the straighter/heavier font.
It is not easy to get these tentacles to be involved :)
I think it looks better than having the tentacles just extending.
Personally I prefer the one where the shrimp was at the bottom.
I like the versions with the shrimp on the bottom as well but I also needed to work with an alternate shrimp since it more mirrored the example the client sent me. I'm hoping they like the other shrimp as well.
Very good stuff, I'm sure the client will be satisfied.
Maybe add a little white where the tentacles cross the letters, so they appear to go through the loop.
I agree that I feel this version ( uploaded ) is the best. Although I think the shrimp should be facing towards Riptide to force the viewer to look back at the logo. Looking back at it now, I guess it could work either way, since you're directed back up the shrimp's .. antenna ? I think that a fluent font like this (with curves) is better than the first version since brothers has so many sharp edges. I do think that the font does need to have the correct thickness, other wise the text starts to lose priority for me. Hope this helps!
