Brief from client
I really don't have much of a brief from the client other than this being for a seafood company. They sent me basic text with a photo of a shrimp curled around it. The client did mention the "tentacles" a few times so i worked out some ideas to incorporate them into the logo. I'm still playing with fonts and colors. I'll post some versions and sketches below as well. Let me know what you all think. I'm sending the first batch of logos to the client today.
Here is the final follow-up for this project. This is the version and the colors that the customer finally settled on.

Thank you, all. This project has been on hiatus for a while. I had a lot of fun developing this one so I'm glad the client finally got back to me to proceed so I could put this to bed.
I remember this, it was an interesting project.
I really like how it developed and evolved from version 1.
Very well done, I like the font, the colours and the the way the tentacles are now involved with the type. The final touches did really well.
All is good, but I would keep the shrimp red, cause that's how it tastes best. When everything is B/W it doesn't matter though. Good job!
I liked the shrimp in red but the client wanted to use a pallet like the Seattle Seahawks. I proofed a version still using the red but they ultimately chose this one. My favorite was the Navy and Red.
Nice job Jon. I like the green/blue scheme.
