Brief from client
The brief was to give a more modern look to their current logo, which was looking a bit old and amateurish. The club is having a new website designed for them and so the logo was a necessary part of the upgrade.

I am not a graphic designer, so this logo is probably going to look quite amateurish to most, but I am interested in some opinions as to what I have come up with, especially colour choice and fonts. Here is their current website, where you can see the old logo: www.nswsas.com.au . The logo incorporates the club name and an outline representation of a map of New South Wales.

It's not actually bad. Don't bum yourself out. It's quite good. the color choice could be better but the overall look is alright.
I like the concept.....the wings, the state of NSW.........but the font doesn't do it for me.
My font list isn't massive, but what font/s would you recommend I try?
Thanks for your comments guys. Yes, I know the colour choice is not the best. I have been playing with different colour choices for days, but just can't seem to get it right. The main issue is that the club colours are traditionally Blue and Yellow, however some members have expressed some dislike for that colour combination and would like to see more red added. Maybe I will try red and blue. Which font doesn't do it for you in2vws? Is it the "NSW" or the other font, or both?
P.S. The log has to work with a yellow background, as all of the club shirts are yellow, and will be staying that way.
