Vevid
Brief from client
Vevid is the name of the videography company that I would like start up one day.
...and now for something completely different.
Right now, I'm trying to come up with the right company name and logo for my own videography company that I'd like to start up eventually.
After reading the comments for my "Vevid" logo, I can see why the overall design is unnecessary and confusing. I think a videography company name called Vevid from the word "vivid" will just confuse people at first glance anyway.
Then the phrase "caught my eye" came to mind. I said to myself, this is something that people could relate to more, AND the eye is what you use to watch videos.
So far with this particular logo, I'm not sure what color scheme to use with it other than grayscale colors. Also, not sure if the eyebrows are necessary.
Any more comments and advice are highly appreciated. You should also know that videography is my speciality. Graphic design is something I have limited experience with and something I just like to do for fun.
Thanks!

I prefer this symbol than the other that you uploaded, but i prefer the other lettering and colors... I think if you mix both ideas it would be better...
I think an eye is too commonly used in logos and its stroke is too bold. Try use the iris only and see how it works. Also, the tagline would look better if not in caps. And yes, its better to create first the logos in B/W or grayscale.
I really like the shutter in the center of the eye but it is hard to see at first so I would experiment with bringing that out. I think this symbol is much stronger than your other versions. Allie_S's suggestion to just use the iris sounds like a good idea as well.
