Country Bound

Brief from client

The client required something to include the outdoors, utilising colours you would associate with the outdoors. They wanted a sense of freedom and scope to what can be seen and done if you're only willing to step outside and find it.

I gave the abstract nature of what I was attempting some thought and reworked my approach. I'm far happier with this version but I feel it's still missing something. I am less focused on the typeface and more on the actual logo symbol if that helps me get the input I need.

Thanks for your help thus far.

Much better than previous logo, especially the colors.

I`m only not sure how it would look in one color. Try to make that version so we can see if it would work.

What exactly does this company do/make/sell???

They sell things to do with the outdoors. But they didn't request something to reflect what they sell.

I'm a bit late on this one and sorry to be the party pooper, but I honestly think that you are on the wrong trail since the beginning. And yes, that pun is totally intended.

Your logo is all about the outdoors, freedom and all that kind of things and yet, your symbol is a goddamn closed window! For me, it's totally counter productive. It just gives the idea of being locked up as in "look at that cool outdoors where you can't go to". The window has to go away, it just gets in the way, figuratively as well as literally.

As far as the graphic style goes, it feels way too video game looking to me. It looks like a scene from Super Mario. All round shapes and plain bright colors. This isn't what the outdoors is like. It should feel rugged, rough as well as wide open (that friggin" window!!!) and vast.

My advice for you would be the restart from scratch. It may feel like a drag, but in the end you'll be happy you did. Apply a proper creative process, if you haven't done so. Research (the competitors, etc), inspirations and more importantly: sketching.

You don't seem to be a bad designer, I think you just need to be set on the right track here.

Keep it up!!
