Brief from client
Needs to look simple, clean, professional.
Needs to work on websites, in visual media (lower thirds and banners), and in print (letterheads).
Their eye can be reworked or continued to be used.
Thanks Waffles. You are being helpful. I appreciate it.
The dot came from this version.
I've said this before but will say it again. The versions that I’ve put up here were sketched ideas that the CLIENT liked for whatever reason. I post them here for suggestions to improve them or altering them in such a way to make them better than what they were. I feel that I owe it to my client to try to pursue ideas they ask me to explore.
Unfortunately, the rest doesn't. For a simple logo, it's way too complicated. Look at the symbol: you have 2 hexagons, the aperture thingy, the antenna and the radio wave. And you added another hexagon on the word mark and for some reason, "media" is put on the under the symbol.
In short, it's a mess.
You can forget about the aperture idea. It's on every logo for photographers and media company. It's like the CMYK color scheme for print houses, it's been done to death and really not creative.
Again, start off again with a pen and paper. As long as you work directly on the computer, it won't work.
Yes, video lenses have apertures, too. The company also works in video and audio broadcasting (thus the antenna), they also work in computer networking. The broadcast "waves" are actually meant to look like wifi networking.
They voted a similar icon for approval for all of their networking documentation already. Shown here:
Hey hey hey, you are definitely onto something here! Some fine tuning is in order (the curve of the small wave isn't right), but you can make this work.
I would also get rid of the small hexagon on the i, and both words in the same weight.
That is not an eye - that is a blue pencil with a led in. Also, what ever had happened to a word " media " in here? I sketched the other day this one...

Hot dang! What happened?
I really like the dot on the eye.
There is a little variance in the distance in your eyelids there.
Otherwise this is much better. I don't know if it needs the radio tower as well.

Ok, let's say the font and colors work.

Immediately I see a shatter eye - is that a logo for a photographer? Sorry, I don't like this version at all - it is a major step down.

Thanks!
Fixed the curve.
Got rid of small hexs on the "i"s.
And made words all the same weight.
Added the word "media" back for Bopota. :)
Make a new post with this.
See how much better this is simpler!

I realize if you found a blue pencil and here I found an automobile tire. =)
