Brief from client
This is a personal freelance graphic design logo for myself.
Here is my second version, for now I want to focus on getting a good design before trying out colors. I kind of like the red and black but it wasn't what I originally had in mind for colors.

i like the idea and i really encourage you to go in that direction. But i have to ask you to give a sense to the symbol, a mode determined line, especially on the outside part, version two is better but you got there some details not suitable for logos. Also if you are more patient with the typeface you can make something wonnderful with this kind of nervous and fluid line...perhaps a little thicker like in the other version, but not so disciplined and "in line"....
At first I read "sewants" instead of "servants" so i´ll see to make that r more readable, I think if you use the "r" tha way you write it on heart it would work better.
And I agree that the line needs to be thicker, as well as the little and thin drops in the red icon need to be rounder,or bigger or eliminated.
Don't take me as a Grammar Nazi, but correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it supposedly be "Servant's Heart" or "Servant's Hearts"?
Secondly, I can't comment much, since I don't quite understand what this logo is for. Is it for a Design Company? or Church Ministry?
Thirdly, I am a designer who believe form follows function, so I also can't comment much on the form of the symbol. For me it looks like a splatter of blood, and what's the meaning of it? I don't understand. But I understand the heart symbol.
Lastly, the typography it looks cluttered and irregular. Which I think that makes it look like not properly planned. I understand you want to make the handwriting looks natural, but may I suggest an alternative? You can still use your natural handwriting, only that make it consistent.
Try writing on an imaginary baseline and upperline, so your handwriting does not go up and down irregularly. Also make your letter consistent in width, length and the size of the loop, such as in the letter "a" or "e" or "r" or "t" those repetition letters if you don't write it consistently it makes the whole thing looks like a clutter of mess.
Just take a look at the example in Coca Cola, or Walt Disney or other handwritten Logo out there. Examine why they look neat, and what makes them look neat.
You will get there....
